Who I Work With

The Practitioners I Supervise

I provide clinical supervision to:

  • RSW practicum students and Registered Social Workers up to the MSW level

  • CRPO registrants and qualifying psychotherapists building direct client hours toward registration

  • Private practice therapists who want clinical consultation on complex cases or ongoing clinical skill growth

  • Practitioners in school boards, hospitals, and agencies who want supervision from outside their institution

My Approach

A Systems Lens on Clinical Supervision

Most supervision stays focused on the room: the client, the therapist, and the dynamic between them. I work from a wider lens, developed over 26 years across multiple clinical systems.

That means I help you look at the whole picture around a case. The family the client came from. The systems acting on them. The points in their history where support should have been there and was not.

In practice, this is often what moves a stuck case. The block is frequently in the system the client is living inside, not in the technique you are using.

My supervision style is collaborative and direct. I lead with what you are doing well, then give you the clinical feedback you came for. You will always know where you stand and what I would suggest.

WHAT YOUR SESSIONS WILL FEEL LIKE

What Supervision Sessions Cover

Sessions are case-focused. You bring the cases you want a second clinical perspective on, and we work through them together, at the clinical level and at the systems level.

A typical session may include:

  • Case formulation and review
  • Working through stuck points or difficult dynamics
  • Clinical feedback on your approach
  • Exploring how our own lived experiences reflect on our work with clients
  • Documentation of supervision hours for your college

I offer both individual and dyadic supervision, dyadic sessions are held with two supervisees at a time.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST SESSION

Questions I Often Hear

  • Can I count our sessions toward my registration if I work somewhere else full time?

Yes. Supervision with me is independent of your employer. Whether you are at an agency, a group practice, or building your own caseload, the supervision hours are yours and travel with you.

  • What is the difference between clinical supervision and consultation?

Supervision is a formal, accountable relationship tied to your registration or development, with documentation. Consultation is less formal, more on a case-by-case input without the oversight structure. Practising therapists often want consultation; registrants building hours need supervision. Jackie offers both.

  • Do you supervise therapists who practise a different modality than you?

No. Jackie's supervision is focused on trauma and systems-informed approaches. If you work primarily in a different modality, she's happy to help connect you with a supervisor who is a better fit.

  • Can a MSW or RSW supervise an RP or RPQ?

Yes. Jackie has completed the required professional development to meet the CRPO criteria for an approved supervisor.

  • What should I look for in a clinical supervisor?

Beyond meeting your college's requirements, look for someone whose clinical depth matches the direction you want to grow in, who gives direct and usable feedback, and whose schedule and format fit your practice. The fit matters as much as the credentials, which is why a short consultation before committing is worth the time.

  • How do I switch to a new supervisor partway through my hours?

This is usually straightforward. Your accumulated hours stay valid, and a new supervisor picks up from where you are. If you are moving from another supervisor, bring any documentation you already have and we will make sure nothing is lost in the transition.

WHEN YOU'RE READY

Book a Supervision Consultation

Book a short consultation to talk through where you are in your career, what kind of supervision you need, and whether we are a fit. If I am not the right supervisor for your goals, I will point you toward someone who is.
